Abstract
Oxidation of Mn(II) with bromate ions was studied in the medium of aqueous sulphuric acid. The introduction period as well as the maximum rate of formation of Mn(III) ions depend on the concentration of reactants, Br2, Br-, H3O+, and Mn(III) ions. The results are compared with kinetic data on oxidation of Ce(III) with bromate ions.
