The reaction of Cl3P=N-P(O)Cl2 with mercaptans

Abstract
In reactions of Cl3P=N-P(O)Cl2 with mercaptans in the presence of pyridine as a hydrogen chloride acceptor, the compounds (RS)3P=N-P(O)Cl2 (R = C2H5-, C3H7-, C8H17-) were found to be the final products. The hitherto unknown (RS)2ClP=N-P(O)Cl2was also identified in the reaction mixture by 31P NMR spectroscopy.
