Abstract
Polymeric silver(I) butyl xanthate, [Ag(Bu-XA)]n, was synthesized and crystallographically characterized. The polymer shows chair conformation of eight-membered ring units and a novel mode of coordination, with a structural arrangement different from that in silver dialkyldithiocarbamate and dialkyldithiophosphates. The polymeric structure of the new complex is formed by corrugated planes.
